Signing-up for a Raid
In order to help organize who is going to be attending raids, we use a calendar sign-up system. If you would like to attend a raid (or be on the waiting list for one) you must sign-up using our forum calendar. To sign-up for a raid:
- Go to http://www.xenoclan.com/bb/.
- Find the event that you would like to attend on the calendar (on the right-hand side of the page).
- Click on the title of the event to display the current sign-up list.
- Click the Sign up link.
- A Comments window will pop up. Type any comments you would like the raid leaders to see in this box and click OK. If you have no comments to enter, just click OK.
- You will be redirected to the Sign-up Sheet.
- You are now officially signed up for the raid.
Signing-up with an Alt
To sign-up with an Alt:
- Go to http://www.xenoclan.com/bb/.
- At the bottom left of the calendar, you should see a drop down list next to the words "You are logged in as:" Select the character you wish to sign-up from this list.
- If the character you want to sign-up is not in the drop-down list, click the edit characters button, enter the characters name and class, click Submit, and click Done Editing.
Remember, Mains have priority over Alts for raid slots.
How Normal Raid Confirmations Work
Often, players have asked how to get from "unconfirmed" to "confirmed" on the raid sign-ups. 25-man confirmations are primarily based on class balance, raid experience and preparation. When confirming players for a raid, we confirm anyone who has the necessary experience and gear as long as class balance is maintained, attempting to get different people confirmed for different days (to some degree).
For 25-man raids, we try to meet the following numbers when confirming:
- 2-4 Druids
- 2-3 Hunters
- 2-4 Mages
- 2-5 Paladins
- 2-4 Priests
- 2-4 Rogues
- 1-3 Shamans
- 2-4 Warlocks
- 2-4 Warriors
—including—
- at least 4-5 "Tanks"
- at least 12 "DPSers" (7 ranged; 5 melee)
- at least 6-7 "Healers"
Confirmations for all raids are done at Officer discretion, rather than "first-come, first serve." This is to help ensure the success of the group.
In Burning Crusade raids, a single member makes a big difference. If you sign-up and are confirmed, please do everything you can to be present and prepared on time. Also do your best to stay for the duration of the raid. If something comes up and you have to cancel, please let someone know in advance, rather than stealth-canceling on the calendar. If someone doesn't seem capable of dedicating themselves to their confirmed nights, they will not be likely to be confirmed for future nights.
For 10-man raids, we try to meet the following numbers when confirming:
- 1-2 Druids
- 1-2 Hunters
- 1-2 Mages
- 1-2 Paladins
- 1-2 Priests
- 1-2 Rogues
- 1-2 Shamans
- 1-5 Warlocks
- 1-2 Warriors
—including—
- at least 2 "Tanks" (1 that could Main Tank; 1 that could Off Tank)
- at least 4 "DPSers" (3 ranged; 1 melee)
- at least 3 "Healers" (2 that could Main Heal; 1 that could Off Heal)
"Main Tanks" include warriors specced Protection who have gear with high Stam, Agi, and Defense (as well as a shield); also, but less commonly, some Druids specced Feral with high Stam, Agi, and Armor, and an overall focused set of tanking gear (as well as skill) and Paladins specced Protection who have gear with high Stam, Agi, and Defense (as well as a shield) can fill this role.
"Off Tanks" include Fury Warriors, Feral Druids, and Retribution Paladins with a full set of gear focused on Tanking. Arguille's pet "Boar," although an enthusiastic tank, does not qualify.
"DPSers" include Warlocks, Mages, Hunters, and Rogues as well as Priests/Warriors/Druids with the appropriate gear, skill and spec (Shadow, Fury, Feral, or Balance).
"Main Healers" include Holy/Dicipline Priests, Restoration Druids, and Holy Paladins; also, in rare cases, some Druids specced Feral or Balance with high Intellect, Spirit, Mana Regen, +Healing, and an overall focused set of healing gear (as well as skill) and Paladins specced Protection/Retribution who have gear with high Intellect, Spirit, Mana Regen, +Healing, and an overall focused set of healing gear (as well as skill) can fill this role.
"Off Healers" include Shadow Priests, Feral/Balance Druids, and Protection/Retribution Paladins with a full set of gear focused on healing.
Note: Be sure to sign-up as early as possible. Currently, raid sign-ups open one week prior to the raid at 10:00 PM Server Time.
How Progression and Farm Group Raid Confirmations Work
When Progression and Farm Night Raids are scheduled on the Calendar, members of these specific groups and guild members wishing to sub into available spots are urged to sign up as usual. The Comment section of the Calendar system is used to note any information Officers should be aware of when confirming players, such as an expected late arrival, need to leave early, or unavailability for that night. Available Progression and Farm Group Members are confirmed by Officers throughout the week and unavailable Progression and Farm Group Members may be replaced at any time. About forty-eight hours before the raid, Officers will perform the remaining confirmations. Of course, there are always unexpected changes to this procedure, and last minute replacements may be needed, or a Progression or Farm Group Member who had other plans may suddenly be able to attend. Officer discretion is used when making adjustments to this procedure.
How Invites and the Waiting List Work
- Invites for confirmed players usually start around 30 minutes prior to raid time. Confirmed invites continue until 5 minutes after the raid start time. Once it is 5 minutes past the raid start time, players on the waiting list are eligible for an invite.
- If there are confirmed cancellations, those spots may be filled by people on the unconfirmed list concurrently to confirmed invites (while maintaining raid balance).
- Five minutes after raid start time, the remaining raid spots are filled with players from the unconfirmed list. Players receive an invite based on raid balance and order of sign-up (raid balance always receives priority over sign-up order). If the raid cannot be filled by players on the unconfirmed list, players from the waiting list will be invited.
- At some point during the inviting process, an Officer will announce the availability of the waiting list. To add yourself to the waiting list, whisper that Officer wl add. If you would like a more complete list of WaitList commands, whisper the Officer wl.
- When a player drops from the raid, the Officer in charge of invites will look for a replacement by choosing the a player of an appropriate class, spec, gear level and skill level to maintain raid balance.
Note: Players who are on an alt may be overlooked. While we will attempt to find you, we are also in the middle of a raid. If you want the best shot at getting in, stay on the toon that you signed up on for the duration of the raid.
