Enhancement

Common Talent Build(s)

Full-blown raid DPS Spec: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hMZxV0diMsAuqoxfcz

Rotations/Methods/Tricks/Tips

I'm going to make a spiffy image to show why this works, but this is what I currently use:

Stormstrikes, Flameshock, Gap for snacks or dropping totems(This gap moves around), Earthshock, Rinse, Repeat

Be sure you watch your handy WF cooldown mod when firing the next attack. Firing another Stormstrikes/WF proc takes priority over another shock. Also, if you're running back to a boss that just knocked you back or you're chasing one, keep the shock rotations going. If you're busy running around, weaving totems, or just too drunk to keep track of which shock you're currently on, go with Earthshock. Solid Earthshock spam is better than solid Flameshock spam. Also keep in mind you're firing a fire, then nature damage spell and some stuff will be immune and or weak to certain elements. Use Frostshock in place of Earthshock if something is nature immune, and solid Earthshock in place of the rotation if something is fire immune. In a raid, just give up on trying to make use of 'your' Stormstrikes debuffs. They'll often be gone before you even see the icon pop up.

Restoration

Common Talent Build(s)

PVP Healing Build - http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hZxZEc0tAested

I built this around survivability in PVP situations. Some of the points are spent in things that are mostly worthless in PVE.

PVE Healing Build - http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hZxZEfxtAeotcd

This build gives up the extra survivability in the PVP build above, but gains some extra mana conservation. Yes, there's an extra point there. It could be placed anywhere, as none of the available talents are truly useful in PVE.

Elemental

Common Talent Build(s)

Raid DPS Spec - http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hE0zE0MsAotxZxfcz

This spec focuses on damage, threat management, and mana endurance. It almost completely gives up survivability that would be highly useful in PVP. Guardian Totems is an important skill to consider in some fights, as the reduced cool down on Grounding Totem can be critical.

Elemental Heavy PvP Spec - http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hE00EcMoVsxZgc0p0xo

This gives up almost all PvE talents in exchange for a very hard and fast hitting Elemental build with Nature's Swiftness as either additional burst damage or insta-heals. This is built around arenas and your mana will burn out very quickly.

PVP Spec - http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hEfzEfMoVstxbZx

This spec gives up the +hit talents and some mana endurance in exchange for better survivability and faster grounding totems. Also grabs the .5s reduction to Healing Wave for off-healing. After further pondering and review, this spec looks less effective for PvP than previously thought.

Cross-build Info

What totems should I drop?

Keep in mind these should be taken as a 'most often' answer. Sometimes you'll need to drop something that you might think sucks, and sometimes it does. Don't forget our class isn't built to stand alone, it's built to be a force multiplier. If you need Nature Resist, don't QQ about loosing GoA.

Caster DPS Group

Wrath of Air, Mana Stream, Totem of Wrath (if Elemental)

Healer Group

Wrath of Air, Mana Stream, Totem of Wrath (if Elemental)

Physical DPS Group

Non-Druid Melee: Windfury, Mana Stream, Strength of Earth, Searing Totem Hunters/Feral Druids: Grace of Air, Mana Stream, Strength of Earth, Searing Totem

It used to be true that a single DPS warrior could offset the remainder of the group in extra damage, but this is no longer true. Also, WF does not always equal win. Try GoA even if someone is asking for WF and you may be surprised.

Tank Group

Windfury, Strength of Earth, Mana Stream, Searing Totem

Don't be shy about Grounding Totems, Earthbind, and any resist totem where applicable. Also, you can often 'weave' totems in these situations since we have so much extra mana now. This is our least favorable group, so keep your utility in mind and really think about what you're going to drop pre-fight.

Notes

  1. Think of hunter pets as mini-feral druids. Especially BM pets.
  2. Resist totems don't stack with the pally buff. Don't bother.
  3. Stoneskin and Windwall are not the answer(s). Ever.
  4. If a boss can fear, drop Tremor Totem. Especially in a tank group. If it's trash, use your discretion but a standing raid is always better than a wiped raid because the tank was running around like a wuss.

Mods

These mods are critical. You might favor something similar, but be sure you have something along these lines. Also, some don't matter as much for certain builds (Like WF3Sec)

Totem Timers

URL: http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/5492/

Manages totems for each element, elemental shields, Reincarnation cooldown, and weapon buffs. Also auto-adjusts a macro for you so you can just spam one button four times to drop your pre-selected totems. Totems are what makes you. Get this and use it well.

WF3Sec (Enhancement)

URL: http://www.wowace.com/wiki/WF3sec

Watches the 3-second WF cooldown, 10-second Stormstrikes cooldown, and shock cooldown. These are the three components of your DPS rotation , and this mod will help you beyond imagination (I saw ~100 DPS gain adding this to my collection)
